The Ohio 8 Hour Remedial course meets the OH requirements for: • 12-Point Suspension: Reinstatement after suspension for 12 point accumulation. • Suspension for OVI/OVIUAC: The driver’s license was suspended due to being under the age of 21 and under the influence while operating a vehicle. • 2-point License Credit: for Ohio residents with at least 2-11 points on their driving record. Credit is valid for 3 years. Drivers may only take the course for this purpose five times in their lifetime. • Juvenile Suspension: The driver is 19 years of age or older and is taking the course because of a juvenile suspension that occurred before the age of 18. • Court Ordered: Not for credit, for drivers who have been ordered by a court to take the remedial program.
Completing this course for a 2-point credit does not remove 2 points from your driving record. It creates a 2-point cushion on your driving record should you get a ticket that would push you over the 12 point limit and result in a suspended license.
